More Information
The availability of an adequate number of volunteers is absolutely critical to the operation of our Club. We are very fortunate in having some excellent volunteers who do unstinting work in supporting our members as they undertake various activities. Our volunteers are always enthusiastic and we know from their feedback that they find their involvement very rewarding. Our Club seeks to have a minimum ratio of one volunteer to six members so we are always looking for additional volunteers.
The Club welcomes volunteers from any member of the community who has an interest in working with young people with an intellectual disability. Volunteers may be students who have an interest in Social Work, Youth/Sports Clubs, Social or Psychological studies or simply people who want to help out and become mentors to our members.
Prospective volunteers should submit an application form/letter to the Club and they will be interviewed by our Volunteer Coordinator. Garda Vetting and reference checks are a requirement and some training in Children First/ Safeguarding is recommended. Any information provided will be held in strictest confidence and will not be released to a third party without your consent. We recommend you read our Club Constitution and Child Protection/Vulnerable Adult Policy on our website.
